China Garden
(This Restaurant is well known throughout the Asian community,
as one of the best for their Dim-Sum Menu).
I have recently been to try it out, and this is the story of my personal dining experience.
Location
This Restaurant is located on Preston Street, which is just off the very busy A259 (Kings Road), which runs parallel to the coast of the English Channel Sea.
It is situated on the left side of the A259 (Heading in to Brighton), almost directly across from the old burned down Brighton West Pier.
Outside:
When i was there the building was clad in scaffolding, and the weather was quite bad for taking outdoor pictures. (High gusty winds, and heavy rain). It was difficult to take a picture, so here is a "stock" picture of the outside.
Inside:
The inside of the building is quite a large area, which has a L shape, with a small number of seating facing directly towards the sea. (The majority of seating however, is facing the smaller, (less dramatic), Preston Street). There are also a number of seating options available on their upper floor
This picture was taken of an area upstairs on the upper floor, it shows a typical table setting for lunch time.
The chairs are very comfortable, and offer high back support.
Decor:
There are some nice Chinese style pictures around the "Magnolia" coloured walls, which adds a nice clean feeling to the room, there were also the usual statues of the Chinese Deities and Chinese Gods placed in areas of the Restaurant.
The Menu
(Lunchtime Dim-Sum)
As you can see, the menu is quite extensive, covering most of the usually ordered items, to the more delicacy dishes. Oh! and of course there is a dessert section.
Service:
We were seated upstairs at our table, and although the Restaurant that day was very busy, the service was excellent. It did help that we were seated right next to a servers service station, (A section for cutlery, napkins, chopsticks etc), so a server was never too far away if needed.
Order the Food:
We found it very easy to order the food, we love to stick with 1 or 2 well known dishes, and order various other tasty sounding new dishes.

Well!, half of the food has arrived already. Now would be a good time to check what has arrived, and what dishes are on still their way
There are still 3 dishes to go.
Everyone's favourite, "Ha Kaw" - Steamed King Prawn Dumplings. £3.20
These are the steamed Prawn and Scallop Dumplings £3.20
Last but not least. The Steamed "Shanghi" style Dumplings. £2.70
Oh dear, we have come to the end of the meal.
Dessert:?
Sorry! But, there are no pictures of the Desserts, they were so tasty and gone before i could photograph.
We did manage to order some Desserts, one was the Steamed Lotus Paste Buns. £2.70
And the other one was the Mango Pudding. £2.70
My Son ate the Lotus bun, and he said it was Delicious!!!.
I had the Mango Pudding, and it tasted like real Mango mousse/puree with some single cream on top...Very tasty!
Conclusion:
Would i dine there again?......Oh yes!

My personal rating for: Taste of the food: 9 (Out of 10)
All of the dishes tasted great during our visit, portion size was good,
and all of them were well made and full of flavour.
Value for money: Price: 9 (Out of 10)
It would be very easy to dine here on a "shoestring" budget, and leave contented.
